Here you can have (long) walks, ride your bicycle or ride horseback to your heart's content.

National Park 'Park Hoge Kempen' has extensive pine forests, alternating with purple blooming field.

Rare and special animals will appear to greet you. The sighting of magnificent whirling butterflies and frolicking roes are no exception.

Sand and gravel used to be dug here and large lakes have remained after the exploitation.

The area covers 5700 ha (= 14085 acres) and extends over the villages of As, Dilsen-Stokkem, Maasmechelen, Lanaken , Zutendaal en Genk.
